Ammunition Conference - We Leave Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Wednesday, I leave with some high schoolers to the Ammunition Conference. The unique thing about this conference, or camp, is that is takes place within Spirit West Coast. SWC is like "woodstock for Christians" as Chris Hudiburgh put it. Of course only the positive sense of the phrase, in that there are a ton of great Christian bands and it's like a big worship festival.

But since I'll be gone from Wed-Sun I'm not sure if I'll have very good cell reception. Which means, I'm not sure if I'll be able to blog at all. Hopefully I will be able to send some pictures and updates from my "crackberry" phone.

So, RSS readers, friends, family and random people who google words and phrases like:
Eddie Kirkland
Kristian Stanfill
Micah Foster Blog
New Harvest Church
YouTube
Healer Song Story
Cooper Dog
Fresno Bee
Yoda Speak
Steve Fee
eHarmony Success Story
Worship Sets
Students
Ministry
etc.

I might be off line until Sunday night. Oh how I will miss reading your stats and how you found my blog. But I cling to that hope that I will be able to mobile-blog some pictures for you.

In the meantime, just go to my youtube account to see some funny clips.

There are so many great messages in this little video clip. Check it out!

My favorite quote from this clip:

Creative Chaos 20 // Students Leading Worship in Main Service

Thist post is a part of the Creative Chaos blog carnival.

This past Sunday (July 20, 2008) I spoke in our main service and also brought some of our students to help lead worship. Sean, the electric guitar player, and myself put together the worship songs and order. It was awesome to serve beside these guys. They set me up for success. When the music and worship is that great...it's hard not to do well as the communicator.

You can see different clips of the service on my youtube channel.

I'm beside myself. 7|22 is morphing.

I  saw this video clip from last night's 7|22 worship gathering on Los' blog today. I'm beside myself. I love watching them and worshiping with them  through a webcast on Tuesdays. But I respect these guys like crazy!

Sunday Worship Recap

Let's pretend for a moment that you were in our main adult worship services yesterday, July 20, and that you loved the worship songs. Maybe you're even asking yourself, where do I find those songs? How do I get them on my iPod? Here are some helpful links to answer those questions.

Service Order:
Opener:
    Broadcast - Fee
Welcome/Announcements:
Blood Drive next week (July 27)
Worship Set:
Salvation is Here - Hillsong United
From the Inside Out - Kristian Stanfill Version
    Marvelous Light - Charlie Hall
I Stand Amazed - Candi Pearson Shelton Live Version
Message: The Prodigal Son - Invest and Invite people who don't have a relationship with God
Smith Family Video - An Invest and Invite WIN story
Feature Song:
Lift High - Eddie Kirkland Live Version
Wrap
Closer:
Jesus Paid It All - Kristian Stanfill Version

So there ya go. Those links will take you to the iTunes store (except the Smith Family Video will take you to YouTube) and you can buy the songs. It will load to your iPod the next time you plug it into the computer. Great Worship...and there's more where that came from.

Today In "Big Church"

I'm overwhelmed by the blessing of God's outpouring from this morning. It was an honor to speak His truth to the truth. Great worship, great people, great Savior! Thank you for your prayers and support leading up to today.

Now remember those names you wrote down and be praying for them. I'll post a follow-up video later this week. - Micah

Sean Richey // Student Ministry Worship Leader

Sean Richey has been serving New Harvest Church since he was in 7th grade. He's mainly been the electric guitar player.  He sings when needed and he can play pretty much any instrument. He's headed to the Manhattan School of Music in about a month. He has been giving guitar lessons to students all summer becuase he understands the value of the practice of replacing yourself. Here's a little snippet of  Michael Pineda learning some tips and tricks from Sean.

Watercooler Wednesday // Everyone Needs Breaks

This is a part of the Watercooler Wednesday blog carnival.

Even the most dedicated people in the world need to stop and take a break every once in awhile. Even the Coast Guard stops for a coffee break while protecting the ferry boats in San Francisco. A couple of weekends ago Erica and I took a break with some of our best friends. We went to San Francisco for four days and three nights. Here are some pictures from our time taking a break from work.

Creative Chaos 17 // The Send Off

This is part of the Crative Chaos blog carnival.

One of the things we like to do around here is have fun together. Donna Cooper was my boss until a few weeks ago. She was hired for a specific task and she completed that task. She's moved on to do other things and is now volunteering in our large group environments for Highway14 (1-4) and INNERchange (5-6). Here is a video from our last staff meeting with Donna.

Re:action - A Growing Movement

Here are two pictures from our band practice for Re:action last night. This past year has been a long journey for this group. You can read a little about what Erica said about that here. Long story short. We created Re:action because there was NOTHING for our graduating seniors to go to. If want to help bring hte statistic down that approximately 80% of churches kids graduate their faith when they graduate high school...we've got to be part of the solution. We've got to have something for them to be a part of besides our main adult services alone.

So, we created Re:action. It stands for Ripple Effect: Action. Basically the idea is that every action we take creates a ripple effect that either positively or negatively impacts our circles of influence. We're hoping to help students continue thier faith journey when they graduate high school and help them to become agents of change in their circles of influence. Last night was a great night and I think it helped us build some momentum that we were in need of. God is at work.

If you are a college-aged person (18-24), feel free to come check us out. We're hoping to grow into a movement of students that wants to reach our community and our world for Christ. We meet on Monday nights from 7-9pm. The first half hour (7-7:30pm) is a hang out time and then we have some worship, a short message and some prayer time together. Email me if you have any questions. Or join our Facebook group to get regular updates.

Just for Laughs

Ok, this has nothing to do wtih anything except for the fact that we all need a good laugh every once in a while. So, take a couple of minutes...relax and think about what you would do if you were in one of these situations.
